This is a wonderful documentary called The Pilgrimage for Active Peace, featuring the 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Rinpoche. Tai Situ Rinpoche, Thrangu Rinpoche, and several other Kagyu Lamas went to Italy and met with Benedictine monks and then went to Rome to meet the Pope more than 20 years ago. This is the story of that journey.
It is my understanding, through my own meeting with Tai Situ Rinpoche, the understanding is prerequisite to peace. It is this that informs our work “Cities of Peace,” paintings that honor the history and culture of world cities that have been traumatized by war, transforming anguish into beauty.
